What Do The Saints Meaning?

what-do-the-saints-means

1 Peter 1: 15-16

"But be holy in all your life as He is holy, who has called you, for it is written, be ye holy, for I am holy"

Romans 8:27

"And God, who searches the conscience, knows the purpose of the Spirit, namely that He, according to God's will, pray for the saints"

Psalm 53: 3-4 - NT

“From heaven the Lord looks to mankind, to seek out the wise who will worship Him. But everyone is deviant and lecherous, no one is doing good"

Romans 3: 23-24 - NT

“All people have sinned and are far from God who wants to save them. It is only because God's grace is given for nothing, that man's relationship with God becomes good again; the way is: man is set free by Christ Jesus"

1 John 1: 8-10 - NT

"When we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves; and God is not in our hearts. But if we confess our sins to God, He will keep His promises and do what is just. He will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all our wrongdoings.

But if we say that we have no sin, we think that God is a liar and we do not keep the words of God in our hearts"

From the verse above we can see that there is no human being who lives on this earth is without sin.

Indeed, Christians are often referred to as "saints", the meaning of being holy is sacred or sinless. Are Christians really "innocent people?"

According with the verse above, we are all sinners, but we are sinners who are "considered holy" by God, or the fancy term is "sanctified"

When the Father from heaven looks at us, He will see us through Jesus Chris … So, what Father looks at is Jesus, not us. That's why we receive the gift of forgiveness of sins.

God will forgive all of our sins, whether intentional or not, with a record

1. We ask for forgiveness of sins

Matthew 12:31

"Therefore, I say to you, All the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven"

2. Willing to forgive the sins of others

Matthew 6: 14-15 - NT

"If you forgive those who have wronged you, your Father in heaven will also forgive your mistakes.

But if you don't forgive the mistakes of others, your Father in heaven will not forgive yours either."

This second part that churches today are not teaching enough. The church always heralded "The Lord will forgive your sins," and they quoted this verse:

1 John 1: 9 - NT

“But if we confess our sins to God, He will keep His promises and do what is just. He will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all our wrongdoings"

That is if the word is not displayed entirely. Many of God's people today feel that their sins have been forgiven, because the pastor quoted the above verse (1 John 1: 9).

Even though God's requirement to forgive lies in the words "if we are willing to forgive others”. If we want to ask forgiveness from God, we should also forgive the sins of others against us.

But in reality …? As a result of this wrong preaching, many Christians still “have bitterness” in them. It is indeed very difficult to forgive people's sins against us, especially for people who have been persecuted by others.

Try each of us to introspect ourselves, because many Christians say "I have forgiven this person", but the forgiveness is Only in the mouth, not from the heart.

We must be able to forgive others just as Jesus on the cross said: "Father, forgive them, because they do not know what they are doing".

Forgiveness is the hardest thing a human can do. Often, we say that we have forgiven someone who hurt us, but if we meet that person our hearts boil again, even if we have a chance to retaliate, we will do it.

Only Jesus would enable us to forgive the sins of others against us. Ask God to give strength to forgive those who hurt you, and ask God to take away "the pain" or ask God removes that "painful incident" from your heart and mind.

What if I don't want to forgive? Well, it's okay…. don't ask for forgiveness from God either.

So, Christians are called "holy" not because the person has no sin, but because God forgives the sins of His followers.

For this reason, He died on the cross, so that we who have many sins will not go to hell. But as followers, we are required to always "pursue holiness" in this life. What this means is that we reduce until these sins die in our lives.

Is it possible for humans to become sinless humans? The answer is NOT POSSIBLE. According to the verse above, as long as we live in this world we will keep falling into sin, only what sins do we do?

But as long as we ask for forgiveness of sins (we also have to forgive the sins of others) then God will always sanctify us. Because the ultimate goal of the Christian life is:

Romans 8:29

"For all those whom He chose from the beginning, He also predestined them to be in the image of his Son, so that He, his Son, might be the firstborn among many brethren"

We are considered holy, considered sacred by God, not because we are holy and sacred. In this life we must try to pursue that holiness, so that our lives will be changed to be like Jesus Christ.

After we read this article, let us contemplate whether we have forgiven all those who hurt us? Do we really want to forget all the treatment/ actions of people who hurt us? Can we say to the person who hurt us, "I have forgiven you?".

Romans 12: 1

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service."
