Cast Out The Devil (4)
Our choices will determine our destiny for eternity. This life is only briefly compared to the life in the eternal realm. So, starting today, determine to whom we are servants?
The Bible never tells lies, God never lies, and the words that come out of God's mouth will not come back in vain. The Word always carries out God's commands. If God says "Obey God and cast out the devil", then that will definitely happen.
It is not us who cast out the devil, but it is the Word that will cast out the devil. If the Word says "may God destroy the devil who is under your feet", it means that the devil is really under the feet of believers.
Romans 16:20
"May God, the source of peace, will soon crush Devil under your feet. The grace of Jesus, our Lord, be with you!"
If you put the devil to be above you, it means the Word will not work, because the Word says "the devil is under our feet". That is the cause why many Christians lose to the devil, because they put the devil high above them. They themselves elevate the devil in their lives.
Jesus never compromised with devil, or held questions and answers with the devil. He immediately cast out the devil. Indeed, it should be like that. However, in the process of exorcising devils currently carried out by God's servants, they communicate with the demons when they are delivering deliverance.
The basic nature of devil is liar, and usually the devil who binds a person will lie about who he is. Many servants of God believe when the devil claim to be a high-level devil, even though they only face "low class devils".
The demons who possessed the human body were "lower level demons", because for high demons like Lucifer and his commanders it was humbling himself if they must enter the human body. Because they can transform into humans, so they don't need to enter the human body.
As I have said in the previous article, the power to cast out demons belongs to every believer. There is not one of the followers of Jesus who cannot cast out demons. All have been given the power or gifts to cast out these demons.
Only this power was never or rarely practiced by Jesus' followers at this time. This is due to their ignorance, and churches also rarely talk about exorcism, because of the assumption that "exorcism" is a special gift belonging to certain people.
Every Christian is equipped with the "armor of God", the only problem is "Have we put on the armor of God"
As the soldier who is leaving for the battlefield, and the commander has equipped his army with all weapons so that the soldier can win the battle, but when he goes to the battlefield the soldier does not want to carry the weapons that have been given.
The Apostle Paul himself said in
Ephesians 6: 10-13
6:10 Finally, be strong with the strength that you get from the power of God, because you are one with Him.
6:11 Put on all the armor that God gives, so you can defend yourself against the devil schemes.
6:12 For our struggle is not against humans, but against the powers of all the demons that control this wicked age. We are fighting against the forces of evil spirits that rule space.
6:13 So now, put on all the armor of God, so when that evil day comes you may resist the attacks of the enemy. And so that after you struggle to the end, you will still be mighty.
The spirit world is a world that is unseen by our eyes (the physical eyes), while devil and his cronies are beings who come from the spirit world. To be able to fight the devil, God has provided us an armor, which can only be seen with spiritual eyes.
The Armor of God is:
1. So stand tall, tied around your waists belt with the truth and clothed in justice,
A. The Belt of Truth
To be able to fight devil we have to be righteous, indeed there is no one is righteous, but we as followers of Jesus have been justified by God. If we confess our sins and forgive the sins of others, God will give us the belt of truth, which will be worn on our white robe.
B. The Breastplate of Righteousness
God will wear armor, or clothing made of metal to protect us from the attacks of the evil one. These clothes will be given to us if we live in justice before God. Our physical eyes cannot see these clothes, but the devil and his cronies will see us wearing these clothes.
2. Your feet are shrouded in a willingness to preach the Gospel of peace;
The great commission of our Lord is "preach the Gospel to all the world", as Christians we must have a heart that is willing to preach the Gospel to anyone and anywhere.
When our hearts are ready to carry out the great commission,heaven will automatically
protect its people who have hearts who want to carry out this great commandment from heaven
3. In all circumstances use the shield of faith, for with this shield you will be able to extinguish all the arrows of fire from the evil one.
The attack that the devil does is in the form of a fire arrow, this attack can only be seen in the spirit world. If we have strong faith, God will provide a shield that can be used to fend off the fire arrows of evil. The Bible says:
Romans 10:17
"So, then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God"
So, the level of a person's Faith is based on God's gift to that person. How can we have high level of faith? We can have high faith, if we often read and hear the Word of God and practice it.
4. And receive the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God,
The Word of God is powerful. In the spirit world, every word spoken will become the sword of the Spirit that will destroy devil and his cronies. We not only have an obligation to read the Word of God, but we also have to say or speak these words in our daily life.
5. In all prayers and supplications. Pray all the time in the Spirit and keep watch in your prayers with the unceasing petitions for all the Saints.
Praying in the Spirit is a form of gift given by God to His saints. As saints of God we have to continue to be on the watch, if God commands us to pray for someone or something, then we have to do that.
If the prayer we pray is only a prayer for ourselves personally, for our family, then that is a selfishness prayer, a prayer for our personal interests.
We also have to pray for our pastors, our church administrators, even for other saints whom God has burdened us to pray for. We must also pray for our nation and country, the leaders of our nation.
If we faithfully and diligently carry out all of the above, then devil will have no place to nest or be entrenched in our lives and our families. The army of God's angels will guard us and the evil one will have no way into our lives and our families.
The message of the Lord Jesus to us:
Matthew 55:48
"You must therefore be perfect, just as your Father who is in heaven is perfect."
As humans who are still alive and living in this sinful flesh, we cannot be 100% holy, but our God will always sanctify us if we try our best to put to death the deeds of the flesh in our lives.
